We have an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of the Council’s democratic process. As a key member of our Committee Services Team. You will have an excellent standard of written English, strong communication skills, excellent IT skills, be organised with a high attention to detail and able to work outside normal office hours.
You will need to be a confident communicator who can develop a good working relationship with Councillors, senior officers and members of the public. You also need the ability to continually prioritise an ever-changing workload. Knowledge of local government and experience of working within a democratic/political environment would be beneficial but full training and support can be provided to applicants with the right skills, abilities and knowledge.
The key tasks of this post will be:
• Servicing decision making committees and working groups.
• Preparing and publishing agendas in liaison with appropriate members and officers and to ensure that they meet all legal and internally agreed standards.
• Organising and attending evening and daytime meetings, taking minutes and publishing them.
The post holder will be required to attend meetings in the evenings on a regular basis.
