We are currently seeking a self-motivated and pro-active individual excited by the challenge of a multi-skilled role, working at the heart of the council to provide an accurate, professional and timely business support service to our Development Management, Planning Policy and Building Control teams. You will be an efficient first point of contact for planning & building control applications, utilising many access channels such as online forms, emails and telephone calls, undertaking back-office administrative processes, supporting with the local plan development, and providing an excellent customer focused service to a whole range of stakeholders.

 

You will need to have some experience of working in a customer focused administrative support role and the ability to meet service performance targets. You will also need to be able to adapt to a constantly changing environment, which can be influenced by Political as well as legislative changes.

 

Specific administrative experience in planning and development management would be a real advantage, but if you’re a quick learner with strong communication skills, great attention to detail, and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a diverse team, we’d love to hear from you!

Depending on the working pattern, the successful candidate will need to work from the council's offices up to 2 days a week, and on a much more consistent basis during the induction training period.
