This post is based at Dover District Council, White Cliffs Business Park, Dover.
Are you passionate about improving local environments, reducing waste, and helping communities recycle more effectively?
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and proactive Contract Monitoring Officer to join our Waste Services team, supporting both Folkestone & Hythe District Council and Dover District Council.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll lead the joint service’s efforts to engage directly with residents, schools, contractors and partner organisations to help deliver cleaner, greener districts.
This successful partnership between the two authorities, led by Dover District Council, has been running for 11 years, and a further 8-year contract with a private sector provider commenced in January 2021. The successful candidate will act as the conduit between the districts’ and contractor’s communications specialists to develop and implement waste service campaigns and projects aimed at increasing the capture of recyclable material and the reduction of waste.
As our Contract Monitoring Officer (Service Enhancement & Engagement), you will:
• Lead and deliver district-wide campaigns and engagement initiatives that boost recycling, and tackle issues such as littering and fly tipping.
• Develop educational materials and communicate key waste and recycling information across multiple channels, working closely with the districts’ and contractor’s Communications specialists.
• Provide guidance to residents on recycling policies via email, phone and face-to-face.
• Collect and analyse performance data to demonstrate service improvements achieved or required.
• Work collaboratively with the waste contractor to resolve issues, enhance service delivery and fulfil Social Value commitments.
