We are seeking an experienced and motivated Environmental Crime Officer to lead the Environmental Enforcement Officer team. This is a key role supporting the Council’s work to protect public health and the environment through investigation, enforcement and partnership working across a wide range of environmental crime and regulatory functions.
This post will suit someone with a strong enforcement background who is confident managing complex cases, leading investigations, and providing authoritative advice on environmental legislation and prosecution procedures.

There will also be opportunities to develop new skills and experience in investigating statutory nuisances and work within specialist areas such as Air Quality, Private Drinking Water, Planning Applications and Contaminated Land, depending on experience and service need.

The 37 hours will be worked on a Monday to Friday basis per week. Whilst most of the work will be from 8.30am to 5pm daily, there may be times that you are required to work outside of these hours, e.g. for targeted operations.
Whilst we have a hybrid working approach, as an Environmental Crime Officer you will be providing a frontline service, with an expectation that you will work from the Civic Centre in Folkestone throughout the week, with the occasional opportunity to work from home.
